snapshots of our trip to Idaho

In explanation of my absence, I thought my loyal readers might enjoy a few photos from our recent visit to my parents' house in Idaho.

I continually find it impossible to get these three to look at the camera and smile, simultaneously!

Here I am at 18 weeks & 5 days pregnant.
My dad took Jeff and the two older boys for a ride on the "mule." Benjamin even got to steer for part of the ride. It was a definite highlight!

Ben and Kyle examining some deer tracks while on a hike.

Owen rode in style.

We had a great time, took lots of hikes, a trip to city beach in town, a visit to the best pizza joint on Earth, enjoyed fresh air, the scent of pine needles, saw plenty of wildlife, and ate wonderful food (they've even started buying raw milk!). But the best thing of all was the company. Thanks for the wonderful time, gracious hospitality, and unconditional love, Mom and Dad. You're terrific!

oh, mindy - i'm so glad you posted this belly shot! In the last one (at the house) you looked so teeny i was beginnning to feel self conscious, but i think we're evening up now (except you're beautiful & have a tiny bum :) That shirt is a keeper... looks awesome on you...
(& the rest of your post was good too - just overshadowed by the mama shot! :)

Paige, it's all in the angle! ;) And it completely depends on the shirt for me. Tent-like shirts such as that red one do nothing to show off the bump. Thanks for the compliments...and I think you're pretty beautiful, yourself!

So, how many times have you driven by the lot since you've been home? I'm guessing you may have driven by even before you went home! ;-) It looked like you guys had a lot of fun. I'm so glad that you had a good drive - with music!

Traci, you are too smart! We did drive by the lot on Tuesday evening, before we got home. It was *not* on the way, but we grabbed some dinner at a drive-through and decided to make it one last little leg of our journey. We haven't gone by since, and I think it's causing Jeff physical pain! ;) This weekend we will, though.
